Kim Kardashian Just Debuted Fiery Red Hair, and Her Hairstylist Confirmed It Isn’t a Wig

From Cosmopolitan

  • Kim Kardashian dyed her hair a fiery red color—and no, it isn’t a wig this time.

  • Kim’s hairstylist Chris Appleton confirmed the color in Kim’s hair is real.

If you wanna get technical, quarantine isn’t exactly over (despite the thousands of Americans foolishly acting like it is), which means there’s still plenty of time for celebs and non-famous folk alike to pick up the nearest box of hair dye and go to town on their tresses. And that includes Kim Kardashian, who has dyed her hair fiery red.

Before you think, Yeahhh, she’s just wearing a wig, People actually got confirmation from her hairstylist Chris Appleton that Kim’s red hair is coming straight from her scalp…so there’s that.

Now that I have your attention, it’s the perfect time to remind you that some of Kim’s past hairstyles have been very problematic. For example: Kim insisted on wearing Fulani braids, and despite coming under fire for cultural appropriation over them, she has never apologized and continues to wear them sometimes. We’ll take red hair over literal cultural appropriation any day.

Her sisters Khloé Kardashian and Kylie Jenner have recently made some major (thankfully appropriate) hair changes too. Khloé went back to her original deep-brunette color after having an extended bronde moment, while Kylie switched things up by tossing a pink wig on her head.

Let’s hope these sisters stick to hair dye instead of cultural appropriation in the future, yeah?
