Kim Kardashian published an emotional plea on Rolling Stone, asking for President Joe Biden to prevent another Armenian genocide by cutting ties with Azerbaijan.

The Skims founder, who is Armenian on her late father Robert Kardashian's side, began her joint statement with Dr. Eric Esrailian by sharing that, as descendants of Armenian genocide survivors, she and Esrailian "do not want to be talking about the recognition or commemoration of yet another genocide in the future."

The Kardashians star gave background on the situation, writing, "Since December of last year, Azerbaijan has blockaded the only lifeline between the indigenous Christian Armenians of Artsakh (also known as Nagorno-Karabakh) and the rest of the world."

She then noted that due to the war in Ukraine, countries have seen Azerbaijan as a "seemingly more favorable alternative to Russian oil and gas for some countries. However, this reliance has emboldened the autocratic Azeri government to use starvation as a weapon against the Armenian population in the region."

Kardashian wrote that "there is no more time for thoughts, prayers, or concern," and Azerbaijan's unprovoked 2020 attack on Armenians in Artsakh "never ended in the minds of Armenians around the world."

She added, "Despite a cease-fire agreement, the attacks on Armenian soldiers have been constant and without repercussions. Armenophobic policies have been designed and widely promoted by the Azeri government and others."

Her statement continued, "Regional peace should not involve sacrificing the sovereignty of the Armenians in Artsakh, but regardless of what anyone believes about our opinion, it is clear that this ruthless blockade has crossed all red lines of human rights and humanitarian law. Blocking human rights groups, such as the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and the hateful rhetoric accompanying the blockade are signs of genocidal intent."

Kardashian donated $1 million to the Armenia Fund in 2020, which provided aid to Armenians affected by the attack. Her siblings Khloe, Kourtney, and Rob joined in on donating as well. The family also spoke in support of Armenia on social media, spreading awareness to their fans.
