Kim Kardashian Holds Pete's Hand at the Met Gala in Marilyn Monroe's Dress

Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson are having a very glamorous week.

The couple showed up to the Met Gala today after Kardashian's mother and sisters had already walked the carpet. Kourtney Kardashian even said Kim had to wait in a "secret" changing room.

The SKIMS founder eventually emerged in none other than Marilyn Monroe’s 60-year-old "Happy Birthday Mr. President" dress, which she wore in 1962 to sing happy birthday to then-President John F. Kennedy.

"It came with armed guards and gloves," Kardashian told Vogue live host La La Anthony. "I had to lose 16 pounds to fit into it."

The dress is beige with shimmering crystals, and looked incredibly chic on the Kardashians star. She wore it with long diamond earrings and a white cropped fur coat, and debuted a blonde hair look. "I’m gonna stay blonde for a while," she told Anthony.

Davidson, in a Dior suit, Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, and his signature black sunglasses, held his girlfriend’s hand and wrapped hugged her around her waist. He helped her up the steps and smiled for the photos. At one point he even gave her a sweet head kiss and flashed the photographers a peace sign.

After Anthony told the comedian he looked "amazing," he said, "Thank you, she didn’t let me wear my propeller hat, but it’s fine."

The appearance marks their first at a major fashion event, but their red-carpet debut came this past weekend, when they attended the White House Correspondents' Dinner. Davidson looked lovingly at his girlfriend and held her waist at the event. She wore a silver Balenciaga couture gown and diamond studs by Lorraine Schwartz, and he looked cool in a classic Prada suit, Vans, and black sunglasses. Kardashian later shared photos of the two holding hands at the dinner.

Davidson and Kardashian have been getting more and more serious since they began their romance late last year. The SKIMS founder took the Saturday Night Live comedian as her date to the Los Angeles premiere of The Kardashians last month and shared some sweet photos of them at dinner following the event. For that outing, both stars showed off their signature styles: Kardashian wore a skintight silver latex dress by Thierry Mugler, and Davidson went for a clean-and-casual look, wearing a black suit jacket, white tee, and chunky sneakers.

Though Davidson mostly stays off social media, he's shown his love for Kardashian in other ways. For starters, he has more than a few tattoos of her—including one seemingly of her kids' initials—and a branding of her name on his body.

Kardashian said she's taking things slowly with Davidson, but revealed in a recent interview with Access that she hopes he's in her life "for a good time" and "for a long time," and she even hinted that she may want to have kids with him someday.
