Kim Kardashian Got Body-Shamed for Her "Popcorn Kernel" Toenails by Internet Trolls

After Kim Kardashian West posted a photo of her lying on the beach, some social media commenters criticized her strange-looking pinky toenail.

Kim Kardashian West has been body-shamed for some pretty ridiculous things — as if body-shaming itself isn't already pointless enough — but the latest attack on KKW is perhaps the most ridiculous yet.

On Saturday, Kardashian West posted a photo of herself wearing a bikini while lying on the beach during her recent vacation to Turks and Caicos. In the caption, she detailed her journey to a healthier lifestyle, crediting her trainer, Melissa Alcantara, for her newfound body confidence. "Shout out to my trainer @fitgurlmel who really changed my body. When I wasn't happy with what I saw back in the mirror I spent a whole year training so hard 5 or 6 days a week putting in a lot of work and changed the way that I eat and there's such a noticeable difference. I am firm and less cellulite and so much more confident. SO THANK YOU for waking up at 5am to do crazy body building workouts & sprints that I hate 😜& putting me on to this lifestyle," she wrote.

Rather than deriving inspiration from the KUWTK star's commitment to her health or her new workout habits, however, many commenters instead honed in on the tiniest, most inconsequential part of the photo: Kardashian West's pinky toenail. Yes, really.

As StyleCaster reports, these cyberbullies diagnosed Kardashian West with "gangrene" and other fungal infections, recommended she get a pedicure, labeling the nail "nasty."

Though Kardashian West hasn't directly responded to this particularly absurd bout of body-shaming, she indirectly shut down the bullies with another photo that she posted on Instagram on Sunday. That post was just a close-up of her sandy feet hanging off the edge of a beach chair; the photo not only proved that the 37-year-old does, indeed, spend her money on pedicures and is fungus-free, but also implied that her toenail only looked strangely yellow in the first post because she was wearing neon yellow nail polish.
