Kim Kardashian is back to damage control after flaunting her tanning bed in a recent social media video.

The entrepreneur jumped on the "of course" trend on TikTok with her latest post, showing off her SKKN BY KIM offices—because "of course" Kim Kardashian has a gallery wall full of her magazine covers, a 3D model of her brain, a custom manikin fit to her measurements, and a tanning and red light bed.

Most fans were obsessed with how "real" the SKIMS founder's office tour was, delighted by how she embraced the excess with a humorous attitude, but some called her out for seemingly promoting tanning in the year 2024.

After Allure magazine published an op-ed titled "Please, Kim Kardashian, Don't Try to Normalize Tanning Beds," the reality star acknowledged the concern, taking to Twitter to explain why she has the controversial beauty tool ready and waiting for her in her office.

"I have psoriasis and it really helps when it’s bad," she wrote, assuring followers that she doesn't' "use it too often."

According to the Mayo Clinic, "Psoriasis is a skin disease that causes a rash with itchy, scaly patches, most commonly on the knees, elbows, trunk and scalp."

While there are undeniably some patients who believe tanning beds may offer some benefits when it comes to psoriatic breakouts, the National Psoriasis Foundation advises patients not to use them.

Phototherapy is an often prescribed treatment for psoriasis, but it involves UVB beams, whereas tanning beds primarily emit UVA rays, which are known to greatly increase the risk of developing skin cancer and may worsen a psoriatic outbreak.
