We all know the 'Kardashians' star has been there before a time or two.

If there's anyone who knows how it feels to watch themself "ugly cry" on television, it's Kim Kardashian.

The 42-year-old SKIMS founder recently offered some solace to pop star Katy Perry, who found herself ugly crying during this week's new episode of American Idol.

Taking to Instagram to give her followers the visual, Perry, 38, showed the moment where she could't help but burst into tears while watching a performance, shamelessly writing in the caption, "hi this is my ugly cry face."

Kardashian couldn't resist chiming in on Perry's emotional moment, making her feel a little less alone about her ugly cry face by reminding her, "We all have one."

Kardashian has been particularly known for bringing out the ugly face when she weeps, a phenomenon that has often been captured on camera as a result of her family's longtime tenure on reality TV.

While several moments of Kardashian crying have gone viral over the years, one specific image from an episode of Kim & Kourtney Take New York back in 2012 has become the quintessential meme for ugly crying.

At the time, Kardashian was crying over her marriage to now ex-husband Kris Humphries, though we have seen her shed tears over many other topics throughout Keeping Up with the Kardashians and Hulu's The Kardashians. Case in point: Her famous breakdown after over losing a diamond earring in Bora Bora, which may rank second overall in the list of famous Kardashian crying memes.

But Perry seemed to have a serious reason to break down in tears during the latest episode of American Idol, as she was watching one contestant, named Jayna Elise, come to another contestant's rescue after Fire's partner backed out due to illness.

In the episode, Fire was seen in tears while on stage, prompting the judges to ask someone from the audience to sing with her, prompting Elise to volunteer. The two contestants then gave an emotional performance that left not a single dry eye in the house.

The "Firework" songstress even told her fans they would probably show off their own ugly cry faces if they turned into the episode, adding in her Instagram caption, "watch #idol now to get urs."
