Who was the killer in Only Murders In the Building Season 2?

If you recall Only Murders In the Building Season 2 Episode 9, Poppy White (Adina Verson) opened up to Mabel (Selena Gomez) in a big way about White's boss, Cinda Canning (Tina Fey) and Canning's involvement with Detective Kreps (Michael Rapaport), the latter of whom was revealed to be the "Glitter Guy."

Poppy also revealed that she was Becky Butler, the subject of All Is Not OK In Oklahoma, the podcast on which she worked with Canning—and who was supposedly murdered.

The Season 2 finale opens with Poppy/Becky telling more of her own backstory.

Becky Butler worked as a receptionist for her local town mayor, who harassed her, and lived with her ill father. A longtime fan of Cinda Canning, Butler was never murdered as depicted in All Is Not OK in Oklahoma, but simply researched ways to disappear and never be found. She cut her now-signature bangs into her red bob and dyed it black. Changing her name to Poppy White, she introduced herself to Canning and gave Canning the idea for the podcast about Butler. Canning hired White as a producer but took all the credit for the success of All Is Not OK in Oklahoma.

According to Becky, Canning, frustrated by the success of the Only Murders in the Building podcast, told Poppy she'd find (or, perhaps implied, commit?!) a murder to document herself to replicate the success of All Is Not OK In Oklahoma.

Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel crew met with Poppy/Becky in their go-to diner, where they asked the producer how to get Canning to confess to killing Bunny Folger. Poppy/Becky said Canning hates the inside of tomatoes and slow motion. Poppy/Becky orders a liverwurst and marmalade sandwich to go and exits.

The OMITB podcast team throws a murderer reveal party with building residents to act out a scene for a live stream, during which they plan to get Canning to confess to stabbing Bunny Folger.

Canning denied ever meeting Bunny, but Lester insists it is a lie. Everyone speaks and moves in slow motion (with Charles also squeezing tomatoes at her), using the weakness that Poppy/Becky revealed to them against Canning. Canning refuses to confess—just as Alice (Cara Delevingne) enters.

Mabel blames Alice for the murder, alleging that Alice asked Bunny for her painting of Charles Hayden Savage's father, but Bunny wanted more money. Mabel says that Alice then killed Bunny and framed Mabel, adding that Alice exploited Mabel's pain for her own art. Alice, furious, stabs Charles in the abdomen.

The group calls an ambulance for Charles. Canning compliments Mabel on her investigative skills—and that is when the truth was finally revealed.

Poppy/Becky reveals she is seething with jealousy of Mabel—and then Poppy/Becky sneezes. Mabel points out that Poppy/Becky was interested in the Rose Cooper painting for a podcast and knew about a girl (who turned out to be Lucy, Charles' ex's daughter) hiding in the secret passageways of the Arconia.

Cinda is revealed to be in on the OMITB plan and Poppy/Becky is exposed as the killer. Alice was also in on the OMITB production, and it's revealed that she only stage-stabbed Charles with the use of a fake knife and artificial blood.

Detective Williams (Da'Vine Joy Randolph) matches the DNA on the knife and knitting needles to "a dead girl," who Mabel reveals is Becky/Poppy. Detective Williams then arrests Becky and Detective Kreps. It's revealed that Kreps was dating Becky, not Canning, and that they plotted the murder together.

What happens in the Only Murders In the Building Season 2 ending?

Following the reveal of Becky/Poppy and Detective Kreps as the murderers, the Only Murders In the Building podcast once more soars in popularity—and so do its stars.

Charles has a major comeback in his acting career and even (sort of) asks his makeup artist Joy (Andrea Martin) out on a date.

Alice helps Mabel paint over her mural in her apartment as she celebrates a year of being free of murders.

Oliver's son Willie visits his apartment, where it's revealed that Oliver has kept the late Bunny's pet bird. Oliver is about to tell Willie about the DNA test, but Willie stops him: "Of you're not my father, I don't know what a father is ... I know all your tells."

Oliver gets a call to produce a Broadway show starring an actor named Ben (Paul Rudd) as a detective. Ben is beefing with his co-star—who turns out to be Charles, relishing in his Brazzos revival—and threatens to kill him. Charles warns Ben to "be smart ... stay away from her" and adds, "I know what you did."

The curtain pulls up and Ben collapses as he is about to perform a monologue. He drops dead onstage, with a panicked Oliver in the crowd and Mabel standing up, griping, "You've got to be f**king kidding me."

Who killed Ben Glenroy?

We'll only find out who murdered our beautiful, ageless Rudd's character in Only Murders In the Building Season 3.
