Kids under 4 feet tall? They’re half-price at new Japanese restaurant in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The former California Pizza Kitchen site in northwest Fresno, which closed in 2020, is now home to a new restaurant serving Japanese cuisine.

The all-you-can-eat “Tsukiji Japanese Cuisine” near Blackstone and Nees Avenue officially opened earlier this month. The restaurant also offers discounts for children, so long as they are less than four feet tall.

Study breaks down why renting in Fresno is ‘difficult’

“Kids pricing is a little bit different than what other places do. We go by height, so kids four feet and under will be charged kids’ price, which is only $11 for lunch and then $18 for dinner,” said manager Guan Wu. “And then toddlers and babies. We don’t charge them at all.”

The restaurant says they will have sushi, nigiri, maki rolls, sashimi, tempura and hibachi. The restaurant also serves stir-fried, and noodle soup, as well what management says is a little mix of everything in the Japanese cuisine.

Wu says this is a newer concept in this area from the traditional Japanese restaurant mixed with the modern. People will pay for one price and everything will be made to order.
