‘Kids deserve respect too’: Little boy’s response to woman’s kindness ‘hurts her heart’
You never really know what someone else is going through — especially if they’re a kid.
TikToker @gigi_leflair said she was brought to tears by an exchange with a little boy at a grocery store. She always made it a point to buy any lingering children a treat just to give them some kindness. But on one particular day, a child’s response left her crying.

One day she headed over to the neighborhood convenience store as she normally would.
“I go out of my way to buy little kids candy […] because you just never know what meant something to a child,” she explained.
There were three kids at the store that day, and she bought them candy. Then she asked them why they were out by themselves and kindly recommended they head somewhere safer with adult supervision. But it was the response from one of the boys that left her in tears.

“Thank you for being so nice to me, ma’am,” she said the boy told her. “Don’t nobody be nice to me.”
She said hearing that “broke my heart” and of course, it only affirmed why she made it a point to buy the children candy in the first place.
The video received 1.1 million views on TikTok. People praised her act of kindness.
“You just never know what kids be going through a simple gesture like this goes a long way,” someone said.
“Thanks for answering the call that put you in that specific time and place for a reason. The kids will always remember your kindness,” a person commented.
“He will remember you and you him. Thank you for being kind,” another wrote.
“Thank you for being who those babies needed that day. Much love and respect to you,” a user said.
“Children are people too, right now, today. Even though they’re small. This broke my heart,” a TikToker replied.
