Kicking off Summer Safely on Memorial Day weekend

JESSUP, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— The annual Fireman’s Parade is kicking off at 5:00 p.m., the carnival is opening soon for Friday, and of course the anticipation for the Race of the Saints on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.

While everyone is gearing up for a fun Friday night and race day, its important to remember the responsibility of celebrating safely especially when alcohol is involved.

Remember to look out for one another, stay hydrated with this summer heat, and if you’re drinking alcohol, know your limits and plan ahead with rides, whether its having a designated driver, a ride share app, or having a friend or family member safely get you home.

The goal is for everyone enjoy all of Jessup’s festivities this Memorial Day weekend without compromising safety.
