Monday, Khloe Kardashian, revealed that she’d had her Range Rover custom-wrapped in black velvet. The job was done by West Coast Customs—the car shop famous for outfitting lemons with ridiculous yet amusing accoutrements in MTV’s Pimp My Ride.
“Yes, he wrapped my truck in velvet and I LOVE it!!!” Kardashian, 31, captioned an Instagram post of her ride’s new clothes. “I feel like my car is rocking a Sean John sweat suit.” Frankly, we’re a little surprised she didn’t have it trimmed in mink.

Though West Cost Customs declined to reveal the price of a custom velvet wrap like this one, it disclosed via Facebook that the material is waterproof (thank god!!!!!!). And, according to large-scale adhesives brand MACtac (which offers free estimates on the cost of having your car wrapped in velv), there are actually advantages to draping your vehicle—such as protecting the car from scratches and chips. We’re envisioning some very soft fender-benders.
You can even go through a car wash with a velveteen car, or clean it off with a high-powered hose! And don’t worry about bird poop: That comes off with water, too. The more you know…
All in all, we’d say it’s the perfect SUV to drive around while singing along to classic Canadian rock—and for those who’re dying for people to pet their car. Can you imagine seeing a velvet car in a parking lot without going over to touch it? It’d be pretty hard to resist.
