Khloé Kardashian Tries on Controversial Dreadlocks

From Cosmopolitan

A new day, a new example of cultural appropriation by a celebrity. This time, it comes from Khloé Kardashian’s website, in which she tries "the hottest beauty looks from the Spring runway."

If you paid any attention to the spring runway this year or to the internet at all, you’ll remember the backlash that ensued after designer Marc Jacobs sent models (many of whom are not people of color) down the runway wearing multicolored dreadlocks.

Many spoke out against the exploitation of black culture (in this instance, dreadlocks) for profit.

So, when Khloé tweeted out her recent post on her website, you probably cringed when you saw that one of the five looks she chose to try was the one from Marc Jacobs. You probably asked yourself, But whyyyy, Khloé?! Whyyyyy?

And as you might guess, the response hasn’t been positive.

Although she didn’t actually try on the styles IRL (she had her team Photoshop the different looks on her), how did someone think this was a good idea?

The most cringeworthy part is when Khloé comments under a photo of Kendall, who walked in that show, saying, "How cute is my little Kenny with her dreads walking in the show?!"

It’s hard to agree with those sentiments once you read about how it’s now legal to discriminate against employees for wearing that very hairstyle.
