After 20 seasons and more spin-offs than even the most die-hard fans can keep up with, Khloé Kardashian is opening up about the very beginning of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. During an appearance on Side by Side with Malika & Khadijah, Kardashian revealed that when she had initially agreed to participate, her mother, Kris Jenner, didn't quite tell her everything that would be going on. In fact, Kardashian says that she only agreed to film in her store, DASH, and that she never expected to have every single detail of her life on E!.

Kardashian explained that Jenner "misled" her and Kourtney and that they "didn't really know" just how comprehensive the show would be. Eventually, when they saw that cameras would be following everything, not just what happened at DASH (there'd be a show for that, of course), they just went along with it.

"Me and Kourt both were like, 'We just want to film at our stores,'" Kardashian said. "My mom sort of misled us a little bit. She was like, 'Yeah, we're just going to film at the stores. It's all you have to do.' And we did it but we didn't really know what we were getting into. Then, we were just like, 'Okay, we're already here. We'll just do it.'"

Khloé reiterated that she and Kourtney never intended to show anything and everything to viewers, but it happened: "Then it all snowballed into something else, but in the beginning, I don't think any of us knew what we were doing."

Malika and Khadijah Haqq also appeared on the show and Khloé admitted that she didn't really think about her friends' participation when she signed up and that, yes, again, things sort of just happened.

"We never really had a conversation about you guys being on Keeping Up. It was just sort of like all or nothing," Khloé said.

"I remember one time I was in Dash, this is when I was working there, and your mom was like, 'We're doing a show, everybody look alive, sign that right there, let's go," Malika noted.

KUWTK recently ended its run on E! Though details have been scarce on the family's next steps, the Kardashians did announce back in December 2020 that they would be partnering with Hulu for their next project. Whether or not Khloé and Kourtney know exactly what they'll do on the show is probably going to be clearer this time around, though it's probably safe to assume that Kris Jenner knows exactly what'll be going down with the new show and how every single one of her kids will be involved.
