Khloé Kardashian Just Cut Her Hair Into A Platinum-Blonde Bob
Khloé Kardashian has been rocking icy platinum hair all winter long, but thanks to a major hair change, we're finally seeing some signs of spring. In a selfie on Instagram, Kardashian revealed that she took her long, wavy hair and chopped it to just below her shoulders. She loved the shorter look so much that she went back to the stylist's chair to cut a few more inches off. The final product is a bouncy bob that adds even more lightness to her overall look — and it's the perfect prep for beachy waves this spring and summer which, we promise, will get here eventually.
Kardashian's famous glam team, celebrity-favorite colorist Tracey Cunningham and hairstylist Jen Atkin, are responsible for the first leg of the transformation. Kardashian gave Cunningham an extra-special shoutout on Instagram for "coloring [her] hair at 6 A.M. and in the rain," and to Atkin for "taking time away from Kendall Jenner." We can only hope whatever conditions led to KoKo stealing a stylist away from her sister and getting her hair done in inclement weather first thing in the morning were captured for an upcoming episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
The first iteration of the chop, as Kardashian described it on Instagram, took off about eight inches. That brought her back to the lob hairstyle she's been favoring for the past few years. But after spending less than 24 hours at shoulder length, Kardashian tapped another stylist to take her hair even shorter. "I'm addicted to my short hair," she wrote on Instagram. "I asked Andrew [Fitzsimmons] to cut a few more inches off. I love this length!!" The 2.0 version falls just above her shoulders, squarely in bob territory.
As for color, Kardashian seems to be sticking to her preferred platinum shade (for now), with one subtle change: This time around, Cunningham took the color all the way up to her roots. If anyone can keep up with the maintenance required for blonde that starts at the roots, it's a Kardashian — but she's also been known to rock a root-y blonde look in the past. Don't mind us, we'll just be over here on KoKo root watch.
As fans pointed out in the comment section, she now bears more than a passing resemblance to Marilyn Monroe, thanks to the new, shorter cut, white-blonde hair, and classic red lips. Considering Kardashian is a 2019 version of Hollywood royalty, we wouldn't be surprised if she pulled her inspiration from the Blonde Bombshell.
