Last night, all the Kardashian-Jenner girls dressed up for Kourtney Kardashian's 40th birthday party. But Khloé Kardashian went the most statement, wearing a Swarovski crystal-adorned gown and matching headpiece created by Yousef Al-Jasmi. The look came together in just three weeks, Al-Jasmi and Khloé's stylist Janelle Miller told ELLE.com, and Khloé was very hands on in creating it.

"We wanted to create a look that was pure glamour but stayed true to Khloé’s ever-changing personal style," Al-Jasmi said. "Khloé and her stylist wanted a gown that was over the top; sparkly and elegant for Kourtney’s special occasion."

Miller said that Khloé came in with a vision: "Khloé knew from the beginning what she wanted. Based off the inspiration pictures she sent, we knew we wanted sparkly and over the top." She also knew she wanted Al-Jasmi to make her dress and told Miller that. "He has designed pieces for her in the past and she loves the quality of his pieces as well as how they look on her body," the stylist said.

The reality star remained involved in the dress's creation, Al-Jasmi told ELLE.com: "Khloé was very involved throughout the whole design process. She sent over a few screenshots from my Instagram as well as inspiration photos for us to use as reference. Both her and her stylist chose all the small details from the color to crystals. Khloé knows exactly how to accentuate her famous curves best."

The matching cap was Khloé's idea too, Miller said. She "knew she wanted a head piece for this."

So what was the exact process for this dress's creation? Al-Jasmi explained that the garment's creation itself took two weeks. It's worth $6,500 and was made of mesh and Swarovski elements.

"We sketched the look and sent it over to Khloé and her stylist for their approval. After settling on a color, it took us less than a week to make, with a week set aside for shipping and customs to Los Angeles from Kuwait." Al-Jasmi exclusively shared his sketch for it and a behind-the-scenes look at its creation with ELLE.com:

Khloé had "about 2-3 fittings throughout the whole process," Al-Jasmi said. And those fittings were actually pretty fun, Miller added, because Khloé's one-year-old daughter True was there too.

"Khloé ’s honestly super hilarious!" she said. "She’s always playing music during fittings. Baby True will be in there sometimes crawling around, playing and just observing. She’s seriously the most adorable baby. Her and Khloé have the cutest mother-daughter bond."
