  • Khloe Kardashian is facing backlash for saying the annual Kardashian Christmas party is likely on despite the pandemic.

  • Her tweet comes after Kendall Jenner hosted a party where guests were asked not to use social media in what fans felt was an attempt to avoid accountability.

Despite huge amounts of backlash for Kim Kardashian's blow-out 40th birthday party on a private island, and even more backlash for Kendall Jenner's Halloween party where she was filmed breathing all over an unmasked essential worker, Khloe Kardashian confirmed that her family will likely go ahead with their annual Christmas party.

In response to a fan who asked if the party was canceled, Khloe responded "I pray not! I think it will have to be way smaller obviously. And ‘m totally fine with that! But we’re definitely celebrating Christmas! It will just have to be small and safe. Maybe do rapid testing before."

Unless coronavirus numbers improve before the holidays (note: cases are currently increasing), this party would likely be in violation of California's state guidelines, which prohibit gatherings that include more than three households.

Khloe's tweet has already sparked backlash on Twitter, with reactions like "why is it so hard for y’all to just stay home not the end of the world to not have a party damn" and "You want to know what’s safest? Don’t f*cking have it! Why is this so hard for y’all to understand??" and also "they act like having a party is required like goddamn just eat and watch a movie at home w ur family."

Others pointed out that many fans aren't able to enjoy large Christmas with their families, are struggling to get access to regular non-rapid tests, and are missing out on other major milestones due to the pandemic.

TBD on whether the event actually happens, but here's to hoping everyone stays safe and responsible.
