Kim and Khloé Kardashian have had a raw and honest conversation about their experience with surrogacy.

To recap, Kim welcomed two of her four children via a surrogate after experiencing pregnancy complications, while Khloé used a surrogate to welcome her second child, who was born last year.

Now, the sisters have opened up about the bond they have with their kids, with Khloé admitting she feels "less connected" to her surrogate-born son. "[I] had a really hard time accepting the whole process," Khloé told Kim and Scott Disick in last night's premiere episode of The Kardashians season three. "It’s a mind fuck," she went on. "It’s really the worst thing."

To that, Kim explained the differences she noticed between carrying her children and using a surrogate. "I do think that there’s a difference when the baby is in your belly," she said. "The baby actually feels your real heart — think about it."

Kim continued: "It touches your [organs], like, there’s no one else on this planet that will feel you from the inside like that — like, your heart." However, Kim pointed out that parent and child "can connect in different ways."

At this point, Scott asked Khloé if she feels "less connected" to her son Tatum in comparison to her daughter True. "Mmhmm," she replied in agreement, adding of the connection: "Kim said hers was easy. This is not easy."

Opening up further in a later confessional, the Good American founder admitted she had buried her "head in the sand" with the whole surrogacy process. "I didn’t digest what was happening," she added. "So I think when I went to the hospital, I really think that was the first time that it really registered."

Of the birth, Khloé went on to say she was in a "state of shock" and felt "really guilty" when the time came for her to take her son from the surrogate. "I felt really guilty that this woman just had my baby, and I take the baby, and then I go to another room and you’re sorta separated," she recalled. "It’s such a transactional experience."

With this in mind, the now mum-of-two said she wishes people around her had been more "honest" about how "different" surrogacy is from carrying and birthing a baby yourself. "It doesn’t mean it’s bad or good — it’s still great, it’s just very different."
