Khloé Kardashian channeled Diana Ross at the singer’s 75th birthday party last night.
Some of her fans loved it, but others really did not.
Khloé Kardashian went alllll out for legendary singer Diana Ross’s 75th birthday party and showed up at the celeb-packed event wearing a plunging gold gown in what appeared to be an, uh, attempt to channel the singer’s iconic look. Notably, Khloé wore her typically straight blonde hair curly for the night out, which generated some understandable backlash on Instagram due to claims of appropriation.
While some fans were here for the party look, some fans...were....not. Comments on this Shade Room post, for example, range from “She’s Rachel Dolezal at this point” to “They want to look like black women so bad” to “Still not us no matter how hard you try.”

Fans inevitably tore her apart for potentially promoting disordered eating, and The Good Place actress Jameela Jamil went IN, commenting, “If you’re too irresponsible to: (a) own up to the fact that you have a personal trainer, nutritionist, probable chef, and a surgeon to achieve your aesthetic, rather than this laxative product...and (b) tell them the side effects of this NON-FDA approved product, that most doctors are saying aren’t healthy...then I guess I have to. It’s incredibly awful that this industry bullied you until you became this fixated on your appearance. That’s the media’s fault. But now please don’t put that back into the world and hurt other girls, the way you would have been hurt. You’re a smart woman. Be smarter than this.”
In other words...Khloé is going through it on social right now, big yikes.
