Are the chicken sandwich wars heating up again? On the heels of Popeye’s bringing back the fan-favorite Blackened Chicken Sandwich as a permanent menu item, KFC announced its new limited-time chicken sandwich.

KFC adds limited-time menu items once in a while. A few months ago, it temporarily brought back its own fan-favorite sandwich, the Double Down, after a 10-year hiatus. And shortly before that, it released Crispy Chicken Wraps for a short time.

Now, its latest get-it-before-it’s-gone menu item is the ​​Ultimate BBQ Fried Chicken Sandwich available nationwide for a limited time. KFC tops an extra crispy, all-white-meat fillet with hickory smoked bacon, honey barbecue sauce, crispy fried onions, melted cheese, and pickles and puts it all on a brioche bun.

Have Some Blackberry Lemonade With Your Chicken Sandwich

KFC is also adding Blackberry Lemonade to its menu this summer. Much like Burger King’s newly released Frozen Fanta Kickin’ Mango that’s designed to pair with its Fiery Chicken Nuggets, KFC’s new lemonade flavor is meant to complement the Ultimate BBQ Fried Chicken Sandwich. The fast-food restaurant created the beverage’s tart and fruity flavors to balance out the sweet and tangy honey barbecue sauce on the new sandwich.

Whether you order the sandwich by itself or in a combo meal with the sandwich, the lemonade, and fries, purchasing an Ultimate BBQ Fried Chicken Sandwich can put you in the running for a free trip to Aruba.

KFC’s Aruba Sweepstakes

Customers who use the KFC mobile app or KFC.com from July 3 to August 13 to purchase the Ultimate BBQ Fried Chicken Sandwich qualify for the opportunity to enter a sweepstakes for a trip to Aruba. In KFC’s order confirmation email, it will send a unique code to enter the sweepstakes and the link to a webpage to enter.

Working in conjunction with Going.com, the travel membership site that finds flight discounts, KFC will give one winner an all-expense paid Ultimate Summer Giveaway in Aruba. Five hundred other winners will receive a one-year premium membership with Going.

But during one week in the summer, everyone wins with free delivery on the new sandwich and the rest of their order.

KFC’s Week-Long Deal for National Fried Chicken Day

National Fried Chicken Day is July 6. KFC is celebrating with free delivery on orders placed on the KFC mobile app or KFC.com at participating locations from July 3 through July 9, including the 4th of July.

If you’re lucky enough, you can get free delivery and the winning entry for Aruba, but you won’t find out the sweepstakes' results until the end of the summer.
