After KFC tested its already iconic Secret Recipe Fries last winter, fans rejoiced when they became the chicken chain's newest permanent menu item. The new addition sadly meant the end of potato wedges as we know them, but now KFC is making up for that tragic loss by offering almost free fries on everyone's favorite non-holiday holiday.

The new seasoned fries, which are dusted with an insane blend of 11 herbs and spices, are going on sale for only 30 cents in honor of National French Fry Day. The special price is a nod to five decades past, when French fries at KFC only cost you one quarter and one nickel straight from your pocket. Does anyone even carry change these days?!

According to the chicken chain, one of the most popular sides to pair with its poultry is none other than the seasoned fry. However, we'll let the reviews speak for themselves. Editor Ethan Anderson, for one, has dubbed them "a new contender for best fast food fries."

But you better mark your calendars, because the throwback pricing is good for one day only (and that day is Monday, July 13). In order to take advantage of the promotional price, you must purchase a full-price menu item at a participating KFC location. Customers are limited to one order of fries each, while supplies last.

KFC recently tested a new version of its chicken sandwich in Orlando. The extra-crispy chicken filet was double-breaded and featured thick, crinkle-cut pickles and dealer's choice of regular or spicy mayo. Here's hoping it succeeds Secret Recipe Fries as the new kid on the block!
