Keystone Resort Opens Most Challenging Peak For The Season

Keystone Resort in Colorado is opening The Outback tomorrow, stoking out skiers looking for a challenge inbounds.

In an update posted by resort officials to Instagram yesterday, Keystone provided a terrain alert: "The Outback officially opens for the season tomorrow, December 22!"

Advanced skiers will be especially stoked because The Outback is Keystone's most challenging peak.

Even better, "Keystone's furthest and most challenging peak will open with 11 trails and plenty to explore across 262 added acres."

Don't worry, though, the group doesn't have to split up.

"Intermediate skiers can ride Elk Run and Oh, Bob, while more experienced guests can enjoy a handful of advanced trails lining the north side of The Outback (including The Grizz, Badger, Black Forest and more)."

Check out POV footage of The Grizz below.

"Advanced skiers and riders can traverse to the lower part of North Bowl, where steep, rugged tree runs like Conquest, The Trap, and The Wolf Den have also opened for the season!"

"Guests can access Outback Express by taking Anticipation from the top of North Peak or Timber Ridge."

Anticipation is a Blue run at Keystone that is over a mile long, in total.

The resort apologized on behalf of the weather (not their fault, though!) that "Old man winter might have been slow to emerge this season, but our teams are hard at work to open more terrain whenever possible!"

Thank a snowmaker and all that jazz!

"In the meantime, let's all keep praying for snow."

Oh, we are. But if you pretend hard enough, you can almost imagine it's the end of a great season, and the slush beneath your skis is just corn snow.

We're not getting ahead of ourselves. It's way better to be waiting on the season to pick up as opposed to mourning the end of a great, passed season.

We're nothing but stoked for snow to fall!
