Kevin Costner Shares Insightful Advice on Aging as He Celebrates 68th Birthday

The actor tells fans 'don't believe what they say about getting older.'

Kevin Costner is getting older—and wiser!

The actor took to Instagram to share a few wise words on aging as he celebrated his 68th birthday on Jan. 18.

Costner's inspirational words came alongside a charming photo of the still-sexy Yellowstone star wearing a denim shirt, black zip-up pullover and a rugged tan jacket and jeans. He accessorized with a black cowboy hat and megawatt smile.

"Don’t believe what they say about getting older," he wrote in the caption, adding, "Each passing year is a gift, and it gets better and better with time. Thank you for the birthday wishes."

Costner's fellow Yellowstone castmates sent birthday wishes his way in the comments, including Cole Hauser, 47, who wrote, "Happy bday!"

Brecken Merrill, 14, also chimed in, writing, "Happy birthday to the coolest tv grandfather and legendary coworker a kid could ever have! I hope there’s cake on your plate tonight 🎂"

Costner's birthday comes a little over a week after he won a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Drama Series for his performance as John Dutton in Yellowstone. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to accept the award in person as flooding near his Santa Barbara home prevented him from attending.

Costner took to Instagram to address the dangerous situation, saying that he had to pull his kids out of school due to the weather. "This is the second time in five years that the town freeway has flooded out, we found ourselves on the wrong side of the town and we couldn't get back last night," he said in the video.

He added, “Nobody’s sadder than us that we can’t be there at the Golden Globes. [My wife] Chris had a beautiful dress. I was looking forward to walking down the red carpet with her."

We hope the actor was able to live it up on his 68th birthday and that no floods got in the way of his celebrations!
