Kevin Costner just turned 69 years old on Thursday, and he celebrated in such a wholesome way. The actor took to Instagram to share a throwback photo of himself, and it's just about the most endearing thing we ever did see!
Let's take a trip back to the '80s, where the young Yellowstone actor can be seen sporting a big ol' smile with a cowboy hat on his head. (Some things never change!) If this image at all looks familiar to you, then consider yourself a dedicated Kevin Costner fan—because it was taken from his first movie: The 1981 rom-com, Malibu Hot Summer!
"Celebrating another year of life today and taking a moment to honor this kid who had big dreams," Costner captioned his post. "It’s hard to believe how far we’ve come. Thank you all for the birthday wishes. It’s because of your support that I’ve been able to chase my dreams all these years."
Well, we're not getting teary-eyed or anything. (But we are looking for the nearest tissue box. 🥲)
Costner has had an incredible career so far. Starting in the 1980's, that would mean that he has been doing this acting thing for over 40 years!
While most of us love watching him play John Dutton on Yellowstone (the toughest cowboy of 'em all), the beloved star has so much more under his belt.
Who could forget about his iconic role in the 1992 smash hit, The Bodyguard? We almost feel like being that intimidating while also sporting some serious charm should be illegal. To list all of the Costner's movies and shows that he's acted in or directed himself would be a feverish task (there's just so much). However, it's worth noting that he has over 60 projects accredited to his name! Not to mention that he also has two Academy Awards, including Best Director and Best Picture, for his 1991 film, Dances With Wolves.
If Costner has done all of this at just 69, who's to tell just what he's going to do next?! We're already looking forward to his upcoming project, Horizon: An American Saga, but we can't wait to see everything else the future has in store for him.
