Kevin Costner and Kelly Reilly took a break from filming season five of Yellowstone in Montana to speak with Good Morning America's Janai Norman Tuesday. The costars opened up about the success of the show and what it takes to bring John and Beth Dutton to life.

"We take care of one another. That's the thing I feel most," Reilly said of filming intense scenes with Costner. "I feel like he takes care of me. We're players on a team. We're on the same side."

Reilly shared her process for getting in character as the ruthless, sharp-tongued Beth who will stop at nothing to protect the Dutton empire.

"I hike my skirt up, drive a bit fast, light a cigarette, and just go for it," the soft-spoken Brit joked. "It's a thrill ride. She's so… she's an animal. I feel very blessed that I have such a challenging, dynamic, incredibly alive character with these wonderful lines."

Yellowstone, which broke the record for most-watched cable TV show in the last five years last year, has spawned numerous spinoff series. Costner said he doesn't see audiences tiring of the sweeping family drama any time soon, thanks in large part to the beautiful setting.

"I don't think people will ever tire of images of running river and mountains that have stood the test of time and have been there forever," he said.

Yellowstone season five is set to premiere on Paramount Network on November 13.
