Kevin Costner Gets Super Emotional in Rare Video on Instagram

Kevin Costner added another award to his collection, and the Yellowstone star was clearly emotional about it. More than a month ago, the 68-year-old actor received the Best Actor in a Drama Television Series at the Golden Globes in January. He and his wife Christine were unable to attend the ceremony due to the flooding in California, and in February, he finally received the award in the mail.

Kevin shared a video of himself unboxing the trophy and spoke for nearly four minutes about how meaningful it was to him. He explains that his "heart was a little bit low" when he was unable to receive it in person. On the night of the awards, his wife went out and bought 30 balloons, and they watched at home with their children. He said, "We found ourselves together as a family and my children heard my name called, and they stood up and they cheered."

Kevin continues, "It feels really good to have this. There's no substitute for being there, but my wife made a night of it for us...I'm so glad I found the movies in my life. I don't know what would've happened to me if I hadn't found the movies."

Kevin captioned the video, "I got something really special in the mail. Thank you, @goldenglobes."

Blue Bloods star Donnie Wahlberg wrote, "Gracious, as always. Not sure your speech on TV would have topped this gem of a video. Congrats. 🙏🏼❤️💫" Brecken Merrill, who stars as Kevin's grandson Tate on Yellowstone, wrote, "What a feeling! So well deserved 🙌🤠"

Thousands of fans chimed in with words of congratulations:

  • "You are a National Treasure and an extremely talented actor! We ❤️Yellowstone and John Dutton!

  • "Congratulations! That is a well-deserved award for a wonderful job done on a wonderful show! I have never been disappointed by any of your performances!"

  • "Thank you for sharing such a special moment. You are an incredible man and a fabulous actor. What a wonderful wife you have to do that."

After rumors of the actor's departure from Yellowstone have circulated, many fans took to the comments to beg him to "please don't leave Yellowstone." Kevin has not commented on the rumors, and Paramount Network said, "Kevin Costner is a big part of Yellowstone, and we hope that’s the case for a long time to come."
