Kerry Washington channels Blair Waldorf in two tweed dresses in two days

Similarly, Kerry Washington regularly references her own TV show, Scandal, wearing Olivia Pope-esque 'fits in the form of tailored co-ords and neutral colour palettes. Case in point: the Thom Browne navy blue paisley printed skirt suit she wore out in New York earlier this year.

But Kerry's latest looks are causing crossover confusion with the 46-year-old actress seemingly looking instead to Gossip Girl's Blair Waldorf for style inspiration. Opting for tweed dresses two (!!) days in a row, it was impossible not to associate each of her ensembles with Blair, portrayed by Leighton Meester.

Kerry's most recent outfit consisted of a strapless grey tweed mini dress worn with a matching XL blazer, the cuffs rolled up so oversized was the fit. She added a large silver chain link choker necklace with a 3D metal flower around her neck that tapped into the corsage trend. Black suede knee-high boots and a black and white quilted chain strap bag provided the finishing touches.

And just a day prior, she wore a Giambattista Valli gey and blue tweed double-breasted mini dress, this time pairing it with a matching check top handle box bag and black knee-high kitten heel boots that featured an embellished buckle at the ankle. Kerry wore a statement cocktail ring on one finger but the real accessory worth talking about is the bejewelled headband she wore in her hair.

Sharing photos of her look on Instagram in a post she captioned, "Need for tweed 🖤🩶🤍", we weren't the only ones who noted the similarity to Queen B's style with one follower commenting on the post, "Its giving gossip girl ✨". Blair is after all known for her preppy aesthetic and trademarked headband.
