Kerry Katona says she was turned down by 'Hollyoaks' while pursuing acting ambitions
Kerry Katona easily transitioned from singer to TV personality, but she wasn’t so lucky with her journey into acting as the star has said she suffered a setback when Hollyoaks turned her down.
The former Atomic Kitten member has said she attempted to go for a role in the Channel 4 soap, however, it wasn't to be.
“Acting is what I really, really would love to do," she told The Mirror. "I have tried to go for it but Hollyoaks said no to me.”

The mother-of-five also has dreams of starring in her own reality TV show and reckons hers would contain more "real life s***" compared to The Only Way is Essex’s Sam and Billie Faiers and Ferne McCann's shows about motherhood.
“I need my own show, too. You’ve got all these young ones from Towie that have got their own shows, but my life is real life s***, dealing with kids from 18 to six years old. Bloody hard work, I tell you,” she commented.
No stranger to reality TV, the 39-year-old previously documented her life in a series of programmes between 2007 and 2010.
She also won the 2004 series of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! and has also taken part in Dancing on Ice and Celebrity Big Brother.
Katona has two daughters, Lilly-Sue and Molly, with first husband Brian McFadden, son Max and daughter Heidi by second husband Mark Croft and fourth daughter DJ with third spouse George Kay.
Kay died in 2019 at the age of 39 due to an accidental drugs overload. Months following his passing, Katona said she felt "guilt" over the fact their daughter hadn't seen her father for a year due to a restraining order.
