Kenny Chesney is one of country's biggest stars, which puts him on the map when it comes to figuring out who the next Super Bowl Halftime performer will be.

But the "When the Sun Goes Down" crooner seems to have some hot takes on playing the major event, though that wouldn't necessarily deter him from agreeing to it.

While appearing on TC & Dina B. on WKIS-FM, Chesney, 55, was asked if he would perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show if he was given the opportunity—and his response may surprise you.

"I'm not saying that if I was asked to do the Super Bowl, that I would say no," he explained, per Taste of Country, although he ultimately confessed, "I would probably say yes."

However, Chesney noted that he believes the gig can be "the kiss of death" for some artists.

"If I've got the choice to have all that stress leading up to it, or sit in a suite with my dad and have a beer . . . I'm probably going to do that," he insisted.

The musician—who is currently playing for plenty of crowds as part of his "I Go Back Tour"—was likely referring to the nightmare stories from Super Bowl Halftimes show's past, which most notably includes the Janet Jackson-Justin Timberlake debacle.

In case you need a refresher, Jackson was performing on stage with the NSYNC alum when she suffered a wardrobe malfunction after Timberlake ripped her top open and revealed her bare breast. Controversy would later ignite over the incident, with speculation rising over whether or not the charade was planned out beforehand, though the stars have long denied that. Regardless, the nip slip of Super Bowl XXVIII in 2004 has become one of the most talked about moments in Halftime Show history.

Of course whoever performs at the event has some big shoes to fill after Rihanna's show-stopping performance at Super Bowl LVII earlier this year, where she shocked viewers across the nation with the news that she is currently expecting her second child as she debuted her baby bump for the first time.
