We've been in a global pandemic for nearly a year, and we've made a lot of progress with vaccines since last March, but this thing is not over. If you take one look at the Kardashian-Jenners' social media accounts for the past several months, it would be hard to tell that the world has been in a very serious crisis.

When Kylie's daughter, Stormi, turned 3 this year, she and her sisters and her sisters' daughters took off for a girls' trip in Turks and Caicos. Once they got back, the makeup mogul threw her daughter a birthday party at home instead of quarantining to follow Los Angeles's Safer at Home order. Kim Kardashian had a private-island birthday party for her 40th, and Kendall Jenner had a big Halloween-birthday bash for her 25th.

On Saturday night, Kylie and Kendall got all dressed up and appeared to be heading somewhere for the night. Kylie posted this shot of herself getting all glammed up:

Per NPR, about 18 percent of California's population has received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, but the state does have a population of nearly 40 million people and has a while to go. Going out and traveling probably aren't the best choices right now.

According to L.A.'s COVID site, the city is still at an "extreme risk." Meanwhile, the California Department of Public Health asks that California residents limit their travel. The site lists the following as essential travel:

  • Critical infrastructure (like the water supply or power grid)

  • Economic services (like banking)

  • Supply chains (like food distribution)

  • Health care and immediate medical care

  • Safety and security

  • Work and study

It seems it might still be time for that tie-dye leisurewear instead of your best night-out look. Or there's always the option of dressing up with nowhere to go. If you have the choice, home is still the safest choice right now.
