Kendall Jenner's 'Dad Sneakers' Are a Comfy Travel Shoe Trend We Can All Get Behind
Leave it to Kendall Jenner to turn what was once an ultra-lame concept into something (sort of) chic: We’re talking about dad sneakers — yes, dad sneakers. The model was photographed over the weekend at LAX sporting a pair of chunky Yeezy Boost 700 Wave kicks that have us flashing back to the good olds days of face-palming as we watched our fathers present themselves in a pair of dingy New Balances and worn out cargo shorts (it’s a package deal) — and quite honestly, we’re into it.
But first, we must disclaim: We can’t give Jenner all the credit for this new #dadsneakers trend (try that Twitter hashtag; it’s real). For that, we’re looking to Balenciaga’s Fall 2017 Fashion Week runway debut of their chunky, multi-soled Triple S shoes — AKA official confirmation that this is, indeed, fashun. Add to that Bella Hadid’s relentless love for the thick tennis shoes (noted here, here, and here).

While the shoes may very well be a statement piece, Jenner’s take on the trend seemed to veer more towards comfy than anything else. She kept it cool and casual in leggings, a cozy hoodie, and an oversized Vetements coat, which she used to shield her face from the flashing paparazzi.
