Kendall Jenner Puts a Grungy Twist on the Lady Bag

A chic lady bag will never go out of style, particularly by luxury labels such as Chanel (the quilted flap) and Hermès (the Kelly or Birkin). But just because carry-alls have a timeless, dressy feel doesn’t mean one has to style it that way. Yesterday, Kendall Jenner was spotted leaving a shoot in New York City, where she put a grungy twist on a classic bag—call it a downtown take on an uptown accessory.

Her top-handle of choice? A sprightly yellow Hermès Kelly bag, which offered a bit of warmth on a winter day. But she didn’t pair it with a chic LBD or suit; instead, she matched its color to a graphic hoodie, styling it with brown trousers, Velvet Canyon's Zou Bisou sunnies, and punky Doc Martens boots (a chunky silhouette that’s shaping up to be the shoe of the season). So, the next time you’re feeling sticker shock about investing in a lady bag? Just know that you can wear it however and whenever you want. Kenner knows that, at the end of the day, you make the rules—and you can break them, too.

New Orleans declares state of emergency following ransomware attack

Rusty Shackleford: Our infrastructure is in dire need of repair. From bridges, to tunnels and highways, everything is falling apart. On the IT side, they are still using COBOL programming to run vital systems. COBOL is an ancient program from the 70's. There has been no upgrading of software or hardware. Here in NYC this infrastructure emergency has been replaced by building bike lanes and pedestrian plazas. Computer hardware and software has not been upgraded to provide "transportation alternatives" to the transplants and the speaker of the city council who wants to break the car culture in NYC, among other things.
