On Monday, fashion’s biggest night of the year took over Manhattan’s upper east side.
The dress code for the 2023 Met Gala was “in honor of Karl” to highlight the work of late designer Karl Lagerfeld, best known for his work as the creative director of Chanel. And celebrities and fashion icons alike took the theme and ran with it.
From a full-on cat costume to plenty of black and white, there was no shortage of daring looks and haute couture on the red white carpet. And while the Met Gala is synonymous was luxury, there were some drugstore beauty favorites hiding in plain sight.
Case in point: Kendall Jenner’s glam was entirely L’Oréal Paris products!
For the occasion, Jenner wore a custom sequined Marc Jacobs look and had her glam done by Mary Phillips. According to Phillips, via a press release from L’Oréal Paris, “The inspiration for Kendall’s makeup was pulled from Mod 70’s makeup with an emphasis on the eyes. Bold lashes to compliment the upper and lower lash lines with a classic winged liner.”
To achieve Jenner’s accompanying “natural pouty lip,” Phillips used L’Oréal Paris’ Colour Riche lip liner in shade Au Naturale and the Colour Riche Intense Volume Matte Lipstick in shade Le Nude Admirable.
The end result is incredibly pretty and super wearable, even if you don’t have an invite to the Met Gala.
Plus, each of these L’Oréal lip products is designed to last all night long. The liner helps to define and contour the lips without any feathering, while the lipstick can last up to 16 hours. The lipstick does have a matte finish, but it’s infused with hyaluronic acid to keep lips comfortable.
