Kendall Jenner

Kendall Jenner appears on the cover of this year's Forbes 30 Under 30 issue, and fans have serious thoughts about the publication's choice.

The major news was revealed on Tuesday, Nov. 28, with the model taking to Instagram to show off the magazine image of her face. "Thank you, thank you, thank you," she captioned the post, in part.

The 28-year-old's inclusion on the list is due to the successful launch of her spirits brand, 818 Tequila, which took place in 2021.

Though it is a huge accomplishment to make it into Forbes' annual roundup, some social media users had a hard time digesting the fact that she was picked, especially for the cover, due to the reality star's celebrity status, family history, and solid financial situation.

One top-liked comment found issue with the vetting process for the highly-coveted spots, suggesting a separate list is created for children of already famous individuals. "Petition for 30 under 30 to create their own list for nepo babies, y'all didn’t make anything. Some of these hardworking ordinary people would have solved the worlds biggest problems with a tenth of the resources Kendall has always had," they pointed out.

Another called her an "average nepo," while a third insisted, "Ugh no, doesn’t count."

On the other hand, some applauded the honor, writing, "Some of you are haters. There are a ton of privileged rich people that with all the money and help don’t achieve things. I’m all for young women making waves ❤️" and "I T G I R L you know you are that girl👏🔥."

Meanwhile, several more brought Kris Jenner into the conversation, well-known momager largely in charge of the business moves concerning all of her kids' ever-flourishing careers. "Momma made it," one suggested, as another chimed in, "Mom has the golden touch of Midas."

The publication gained a wave of criticism in the past when Kendall's younger sister, Kylie Jenner, covered the World's Billionaires list issue and was named the "youngest ever self-made billionaire" in 2019 for her beauty brand, Kylie Cosmetics—a claim that has since been refuted.

Financial filings alleged that "Kylie’s business is significantly smaller, and less profitable, than the family has spent years leading the cosmetics industry and media outlets, including Forbes, to believe," the magazine confirmed in 2020.

As for the 30 Under 30 roundup, Kendall joins playwright Jordan E. Cooper, rapper Latto, energy lister Brennan Spellacy, and more.

“This is one of the most diverse and ambitious Under 30 classes to-date, and particularly in terms of the scope of their work and impact of their leadership,” said Kristin Stoller, Senior Editor, Forbes Under 30. “The large majority are founders or cofounders of a company, but creators and performers are also making their mark as they build their brands beyond traditional artistic scopes.”
