Kendall Jenner might have sat out on walking New York Fashion Week, but she's back on her game and just made her fashion month debut in Burberry's spring 2020 show in London this afternoon. While her bomber jacket and fringed skirt are worth a discussion of their own, the real star of the show was her major hair change. Her signature dark black hair is now a bright blond with rooted lowlights.
It isn't the first time Jenner's gone blond for the runway. In 2016 she wore a blond wig for Balmain's fall show, while best friend Gigi Hadid wore a dark chocolate brown one. The wig at Balmain was more of a perfect platinum, while this time she's going for a more natural honey blond. There's been no word on whether the look Jenner has at the Burberry show is a wig or not, but the way it's highlighted looks pretty realistic.
Regardless, it was a fast change. Jenner was spotted out and about in New York City on September 10 with her usual jet black hair.
Jenner certainly had the ability to walk in New York Fashion Week this year, but instead she decided to take it all in as a showgoer. “It’s a lot more mellow to just go,” she told Vogue. “But I won’t lie, today I was missing it. I was watching the girls, and I was like, ‘Damn, I kind of want to walk.’"
One of the models in question she watched was Bella Hadid, who also recently went through a pretty major blond transformation herself. Perhaps she was Kendall's inspiration for going over to the bright side? Or it could be the rest of the Kar-Jenner fam, who are no strangers to constant hair changes—Kim, Kourtney, and Kylie go blond and back like it's nothing—who gave Kendall the push to blond. Whatever the reason, be prepared for this specific shade to be everywhere this fall.
