The maker of America’s #1 Chardonnay, Kendall-Jackson has also released two limited-edition, commemorative wines which feature special labels as an ode to the 150th anniversary of the Run for The Roses. Pictured on the label is the retired American Thoroughbred racehorse Rachel Alexandra of Stonestreet Stables, the Jackson family’s Thoroughbred horse breeding and racing operation located on premium farmland in the famous Bluegrass hills of Lexington, Kentucky. Rachel Alexandra has won some of the most sought-after races at Churchill Downs, Belmont Park and Saratoga Racecourse, among others.

Kentucky Derby x Kendall-Jackson 2021 “150th Running” Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon (SRP: $24.99) is a fruit-forward, versatile wine that offers fresh aromas of bright red cherry, pomegranate and red currant with hints of exotic spices, dark chocolate and baking spices. Subtle flavors of blueberry, caramel and cedar finish with rich, supple tannins.

Kentucky Derby x Kendall-Jackson 2022 “150th Running” Mendocino County Chardonnay (SRP: $14.99) boasts pineapple, tangerine and tropical fruit with a lush, rich palate. Notes of candied lime and vanilla bean create an appealing and long, lingering finish with an overlaying touch of salinity and minerality.

Tickets start at $175 including full access to the event from 11:00am to 7:00pm, complimentary food, a welcome drink, and three complimentary drink tickets.

The Jackson family’s legacy in winemaking runs deep, and while many wine enthusiasts across the nation recognize Kendall-Jackson as the makers of America's favorite Chardonnay, the family's endeavors in the horse racing world are lesser known. Founder Jess Jackson’s passion for horse racing was ignited as a young boy when he watched Seabiscuit win the 1938 Bay Meadows Handicap from atop his uncle’s shoulders. Many years later, their success in the wine business afforded them the opportunity to indulge in his passion for Thoroughbred racing, which has been passed on to Barbara Banke.

The Jackson family opened Stonestreet Farm in 2005 on premium farmland in the famous Bluegrass region of Lexington, Kentucky. Since it was purchased, Stonestreet Farm has been the leading North American commercial Thoroughbred breeder of yearlings ten-times, including in each of the last six consecutive years. The Stonestreet program has bred and raised the winners of 95 graded stakes and over $90 million dollars, including champions Gamine, Good Magic, Lady Aurelia, Malathaat and My Miss Aurelia, and enjoyed racing the Hall of Fame inductees Curlin and Rachel Alexandra. Barbara Banke currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Breeder’s Cup, the first female to be appointed to the position.
