Kenan Thompson is bringing back one of your favorite childhood shows, and this feels so right
Be still our nostalgic hearts: All That is officially coming back to Nickelodeon, courtesy of one of the show’s most famous alums. Kenan Thompson is bringing the teen sketch show back to the airwaves. The actor and comedian, who currently holds the record for longest-running Saturday Night Live cast member, will serve as an executive producer on the project, which is set to premiere this summer. According to Variety, which first reported the news, the new iteration of the series will air episodes weekly and feature a whole new cast of teens.
Even better? Your dreams of seeing the likes of Josh Server and Lori Beth Denberg again aren’t necessarily dashed, as Variety also revealed that the network is expecting a number of our favorite All That alums to make appearances.
The original series ran for 10 seasons between 1994 and 2005, serving as a launching pad for a number of famous faces, including Amanda Bynes, Nick Cannon, Jamie Lynn Spears, and Gabriel Iglesias. Thompson starred in the first five seasons of All That (also starring in the All That spinoff Kenan and Kel with Kel Mitchell).
Joining the Nick reboots will also be the downright spooky ’90s favorite, Are You Afraid of the Dark? According to E! News, a miniseries has been commissioned and is set to air in October 2o19, around the time the big-screen adaptation is slated to be released.
We cannot wait to see the new cast of comedians—with a little help from old friends—when the new iteration of All That premieres this summer.
