In an odd twist of TV events, Kelsea Ballerini just got into it with The Masked Singer judge Nicole Scherzinger. But the reason behind their encounter not only had fans laughing after the "Heartfirst" songstress apologized.

Both artists recently appeared as guests on the NBC game show That's My Jam, alongside Jason Derulo and Julia Michaels. For the segment "Slay It Don't Spray," Kelsea and Nicole competed on opposing teams. Though Nicole correctly guessed the lyrics to Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" and caused Kelsea to get sprayed in the face with water, she knew she wasn't in the clear.

When Kelsea and Julia belted out the right words to Shania Twain's "Man! I Feel Like Woman," Nicole and Jason were hit with water.

Needless to say, the former Pussycat Dolls singer did not appear too thrilled with host Jimmy Fallon over the incident. "I did it! I'm committed!" she said on the show. "Look at my face! Jimmy, my face is gone!"

Although she had a lucky outcome, Kelsea felt bad for what happened to Nicole, who had gotten glammed up for the special event. As Masked Singer fans may have figured, the judge donned her signature smoky eye shadow, bright blush and a sleek ponytail that all got ruined in the process.

Afterward, Kelsea quickly looked over to the TV personality to offer an apology, screaming, "I'm so sorry!"

While the country singer empathized with Nicole, That's My Jam fans on social media didn't necessarily agree. Many immediately headed over to the comments section on YouTube to share how much they love seeing the two interact. Unsurprisingly, many found the moment hilarious.

"Nicole look pissed at the end," one person wrote. "This [is so] funny!!!!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣," another fan agreed. "Bruhh thats a lot of water. I feel you Nicole 😆," a different user added.

So, did Nicole find a way to get Kelsea back for her stunt? That unfortunately wasn't the case because Jason couldn't remember the rest of Katy Perry's "I Kissed a Girl" and they both got sprayed a second time. Luckily, we know she'll fare better on The Masked Singer since she's had lots of practice guessing celebrity voices.
