Kelsea Ballerini Fans Rally Around the Singer After She Posts Emotional Instagram Ahead of VMAs

Kelsea Ballerini is embracing a whole new era, and she's kicking it off with an emotional piece of news on social media.

On September 12, the singer went on Instagram to announce a special event happening in her life. Posting a clip driving around her hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee with her dog Dibs, Kelsea revealed she'll be coming back home for a special concert she dubbed the "Homecoming Show." Playing live at the Thompson Boling Arena on November 2, she used the caption to share with her fanbase the sentimental inspiration for the performance.

"Throughout the last decade and four albums, there has been a consistent ode to my hometown," the Rolling Up the Welcome Mat (for Good) songstress wrote. "Whether it be lyrically like in ‘Half of My Hometown’ or celebrating milestone moments in venues like my high school, the Tennessee Theater, or the Civic Center, it’s always been incredibly important to me to go back to the place that let me go to chase my dream."

"Playing Thompson-Boling has been on my bucket list since I was a little kid watching my favorite musicians come through town and is the perfect place to celebrate such a bookmark year and kick off a new level of touring. See you November 2, Knoxville 🧡."

Between the surprise announcement and the heartwarming story behind it, fans couldn't help but sing their praises for Kelsea's sentimental career venture in the comments.

"This is the Super Bowl for Kelsea fans," one person wrote on Instagram. "Never been prouder of you 🥹 can’t wait for this!!" another exclaimed. "SO INCREDIBLE. SO PROUD. See you there!! 🥹," a different follower rejoiced.

As Kelsea gears up to play in her hometown, she has one other music gig to do first. She'll be taking the stage as a performer during the 2023 Video Music Awards (VMAs), alongside names like Demi Lovato and Doja Cat.
