Kelsea Ballerini Addresses Lip-Syncing Claims After Glitchy Awards Show Performance

Kelsea Ballerini is setting the record straight regarding the minor snafu that occurred during her performance at the People's Choice Country Awards on Thursday night.
For those who weren't tuned in, the country songstress was performing her song "Mountain With A View" when something glitched with the broadcast, making it look like Ballerini's lips didn't line up with the words she was singing.
Following speculation that she might have been lip-syncing, the 30-year-old signer took to social media to clear up the rumors, while explaining to fans what was really going on behind the cameras.
"I just want to say, if I was lip-synching, I would've sounded a lot better," Ballerini quipped in a video shared to her Instagram Story after the show.
"One of the cameras was off," she explained, before adding with a laugh, "Thank you and goodnight."
Ballerini's post provided some much-needed clarification on the situation, after viewers on X (formerly Twitter) seemed to be getting carried away with the assumption that she was lip-syncing.
"Was my TV sound off a second or is Kelsea Ballerini lip syncing terribly on the People's Choice Country Awards?" one person asked.
"Kelsea Ballerini was no doubt just Lip Syncing her own song," someone else insisted. "No defending her on that one. That was too obvious. Not Good #PeopleChoiceAwards."
But after setting the record straight, the "Penthouse" singer seems to be making light of the misunderstanding now.
She later shared another post to her Instagram Story, this time including a picture of herself giving some major side eye along with the caption, "me singing live watching people thinking otherwise."
She also provided a video of the performance from the NBC Instagram account, where the network confirmed that she was singing live the whole time.
"@kelseaballerini’s FLAWLESS glitch-free performance 🤩" the caption read. "nobody does live vocals like her! watch the #PCCAs on NBC and @peacock."
"Real ones knew she wasn’t lip syncing," one of her loyal fans wrote in the comments.
"This is very clearly live and BOMB 😭🫶🏼," someone else added.
