Kellyanne Conway Looks…Different

Kellyanne Conway, an advisor to President Donald Trump, showed up on Fox News this week, ostensibly to talk about the administration and the Republican party’s thoughts on the recent killings of George Floyd, Rayshard Brooks, and general police reform. But the discussion after her TV spot was much more focused on Conway’s…new look.

She’s certainly no stranger to being on camera, but it would appear Conway is trying out a new 2020 beauty vibe with visibly more makeup on the eyes, a lot of contouring around the cheeks, and a more full blowout. Of course, we can’t know for certain exactly what sort of tricks and tips Conway’s picked up during quarantine. Maybe she’s been drinking a lot of water? Or perhaps she just spent days on end watching YouTube tutorials? Did she find a way to FaceTune a live television appearance? Truly, who can say?

But you do you, Kellyanne.

Whatever’s going on, the discussion online and across other media outlets was pretty hard to miss. Radio host Stephanie Miller summed up the general tone by tweeting, “What the hell happened to Kellyanne Conway??”

Some questioned if Conway had undergone any procedures during the lockdown. “And here’s me thinking elective surgeries were banned during the #COVID19 #TrumPandemic," one person tweeted. (And I should say that no matter my differences of opinion with Conway and her boss on pretty much everything, she is allowed to do as she wishes with her own face—as is every woman.)

Others argued we shouldn&apost be having a conversation about her appearance at all. “I despise Kellyanne Conway as much as anyone -- even more than Jesus -- but let’s stop evaluating women for the way they look, OK?” another person tweeted. “You mocked her for looking haggard and now you&aposre mocking her for looking better. Talk about her lies, not her lines.”

Conway replied in a text to the New York Post that she was “at the White House consistently throughout the pandemic and task force activities.” She did not directly respond to her alleged makeover, but added, “(Thank you though).”
