Cut outs and leg slits have been all the rage on red carpets and runways, but Kelly Rowland just took the trend to a whole new level by completely forgoing one side of her dress. Let me explain: On Wednesday, the Destiny's Child alum attended The Hollywood Reporter Beauty Dinner in Los Angeles in a unique take on the little black dress.

Rowland arrived in a long-sleeved bodycon black maxidress from Karoline Vitto with a high neckline and a massive cutout that stretched from her ribs all the way down to her knee. Elongated silver rings acted as a lace-up detail and snaked up the side of her body, holding the dress together.

She accessorized with a matching sculptural head wrap, long black drop earrings, and a collection of black and silver rings that coordinated with the floor-grazing frock. In terms of glam, Rowland wore her hair down in waves and tucked behind her shoulders, while her makeup look included featured lashes, rosy cheeks, and a '90s-inspired lip liner and gloss.

The dinner, which took place at the Holloway House in West Hollywood, celebrated hair stylists and makeup artists. Many celebs, including Rowland, Charlize Theron, Janelle Monáe, and Normani, showed up to support the artists and stylists with whom they work. At one point, Rowland and Monáe posed for a cute photo together against the step-and-repeat. The actress wore a red minidress with poofy statement sleeves, matching heeled sandals, and a crimson clutch.
