From Women's Health

Kelly Rowland originally stepped onto the scene as one third of Destiny's Child back in 1997. While over 20 years have passed since then and she's gone on to pursue her own solo accomplishments (several albums, judging The Voice Australia, and a self-help book for new moms to name a few), one thing that has remained the same is her flawless complexion. You may have noticed her pregnancy glow on WH's November cover, where Kelly revealed to the world she was expecting baby number two.

Whether she's expecting or not, Kelly's skin has always been enviable. And while it's likely Kelly was just #blessed with some good skin genes, she's also a product junkie. Kelly told Into The Gloss back in 2017 that she became a beauty product hoarder because of her mom. "I love just trying different things out and seeing what works, and testing out new things," said Kelly. Keep reading for some of the products she's tried and loved over the years.

She's not ashamed of a drugstore staple.

Kelly shared on ITG that she swears by Vaseline. "Another one of my favorites that you can actually just get from any drugstore is Vaseline under my eyes. I do put it on underneath my eyes and it works like a charm," she said.

She swears by her facialist's retinol serum.

"After I had my son, I had to change my skincare routine. I went to see Shani Darden—she's awesome and she's actually in my book, too—and I was like, 'I just had this baby and I don't know what's wrong with my face!' She gave me Retinol Reform, which is magic in a bottle. I swear by it. You know, some stuff works for specific skin types, but this works on everybody. It's magic, it's magic in this bottle," she tells Into The Gloss. (Psst: It was also a WH 2020 Skincare Awards Winner!)

She makes sure to do a thorough cleanse.

"My daily routine includes washing morning and night with the iS Clinical Cleansing Complex. It's from Shani and I love it. I wear makeup daily so I want to feel squeaky clean, and this makes me feel like I got everything off."

She calms her eczema with this cooling serum.

Kelly shared that she used to have an oily T-zone, but after she had her first child it dried up and was replaced with eczema. "I have this serum called Hydro-Cool that works for eczema. I use the serum whenever it flares up, and it kind of cools everything down," she tells ITG.

She uses at-home peels.

Shani introduced her to the Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel Pads by Shani as well and shared with ITG that they helped clear up the worst breakout while filming The Voice Australia.

She's not afraid of doing laser treatments for her skin.

In 2018, ELLE asked Kelly about any treatments she had tried recently and she responded saying, "I go to this place in L.A. called Beauty Park. And there's an incredible woman there. Her name is Nurse Jamie. She's amazing. She has all these cool lasers that tighten, brighten, lift, and remove and it's like my favorite new thing. It's probably the biggest beauty splurge I've ever had. It's a big one but it's so worth it."

She loves a facial steamer.

Earlier in May of this year, Kelly was a guest on Shani's YouTube channel where the facialist walked her through an at-home facial. To start the treatment Shani had them both using facial steamers from Vanity Planet and Kelly couldn't get enough. "The reason why we're steaming is just to loosen up any oil in your skin and clear your pores," explained Shani. "Especially if you're going to do extractions, you want to make sure that you loosen everything up in your pores." She also says steaming helps to get a deep clean because it's "opening everything up," though she warns to be careful doing extractions at home.

She is a firm believer in sunscreen.

During Kelly's YouTube facial tutorial with Shani, she asked the facialist if she could clear up the myth that people with melanin-rich skin don't need sunscreen. Shani went on to explain, "the sun ages you, so that's what causes fine lines and wrinkles. So sure, you're darker and you might not see a sunburn, but you're aging your skin. So you need to wear sunscreen every day."

She's a fan of this popular pimple patch.

At the end of the video Kelly points to two spots that she infers are pimples coming up and Shani tells her not to mess with them saying, "we don't need that, we don't have time for that right now. I can't get to you." Shani goes on to reveal that Kelly's new favorite thing is Zitstickas. "You can put them on and then you won't pick your pimple because you can't see it. Because otherwise she would pick it," shares Shani. It turns out she approves of them too. "Out of all of the patches I think these are the best because they have these little microdarts in it so it opens up the area and then the product goes right into the zit, which is mostly salicylic acid," says Shani.
