Mark Consuelos admits his jealousy used to be a major 'character flaw.'

Kelly Ripa is getting brutally honest about her husband Mark Consuelos, who she admits she had some complaints about earlier on in their marriage.

While chatting in a teaser clip for Ripa's new Sirius XM podcast "Let's Talk Off Camera," the longtime couple openly discussed Consuelos' history of getting a little too jealous.

"My biggest complaint about you over the course of our marriage, and this is not recent because it definitely changed... but you used to be insanely jealous and that was a hard pill to swallow," Ripa, 52, said in an exclusive preview of the episode obtained by Entertainment Tonight. "It's very hard being married to somebody who is jealous."

The daytime talk show host went on to say that Consuelos, 51, used to have "a perception of a scenario," that caused issues early on in their marriage. She then recalled an example from shortly after the pair tied the knot in 1996.

"It was our first week of marriage, because we didn't take our honeymoon until later. You were working and I went to visit you in Boston," Ripa said to Consuelos. "We went to this Italian restaurant and the waiter was like a very cute old man, he's definitely in his 70s, if not 80s. He leaned down and he said, 'And for the principessa?'"

"I thought it was so cute that this little old man called me a princess, and I looked at him and I gave him my order in a very smiley way," Ripa remembered. "And he walked away and you picked a horrible fight."

Consuelos admitted that he "got upset" in the moment, telling his wife, "I remember that," although he claimed he has grown since then.

"Look at age 25, I was pretty insane," he confessed. "But that jealousy thing definitely followed me for a while. I'm not jealous anymore."

"It's ugly," the Riverdale actor said of what he called a "character flaw," which he acknowledged had an affect on Ripa. "As ugly as it feels to the person who has to be on the receiving end of it, it's such an ugly feeling inside."

"If this is any consolation, you know you're being crazy," he added. "The jealous person knows that this is wrong and it's ugly, but they can't help it."

Luckily, Consuelos has since changed his ways, and Ripa said she is "so grateful" that he did.

"I wanted to do some work on myself and that was one of the major things that I needed to work on because it was getting in the way," Consuelos added.

"Let's Talk Off Camera" premieres Wednesday, March 22. Listen on the SXM app, or wherever you get your podcasts.
