Kelly Ripa Reveals the Most Important Advice She’s Given Her Daughter

Celebrity couples don’t get much more stylish than Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa, so it’s no surprise to learn that the Ripa-Consuelos children have picked up a few fashion and beauty tips from their folks. During a recent family interview with People, Ripa revealed the single most important piece of beauty advice she’s passed on to her 17-year-old daughter Lola.

“What is the one thing I’ve always told you?” Ripa asked Lola. “Never touch your eyebrows! I have always told you never to touch your eyebrows, and you never have, and I’m so right about that.” Lola also admitted that she’s taken her mom’s “less is more” advice when it comes to makeup–but it took her awhile to come to grips with that one. “Sometimes I look back on pictures of myself from eighth grade and think, oh, I just did not get it at all!”

But Consuelos added that the most important lesson they’ve instilled in their children is not to get too caught up on the external. “It’s a cliché, but beauty is really something that comes from the inside,” he said, “and our kids get that.” Ripa added that because the three children have been exposed to photo shoots and social media for so long, “they know how much can be faked and filtered and altered and so they aren’t fooled by what a picture tells you you should look like. That’s not real beauty.”

Ripa recently admitted that she's interested in having more children, especially after hanging out with her friend Andy Cohen's sweet newborn son. "He really does make me want to have another baby," Ripa said during Cohen's stint as a guest host on Monday's episode of Live With Ryan and Kelly, per USA Today. "He’s confused me into thinking [I want another baby]." But it sounds like Consuelos might be less sure. "I was putting it out there for (Mark) last night," Ripa joked, "and [he] was like 'It's all right, let's be grateful for what we have.' And then he put on Game of Thrones and fell asleep, which was the anti-aphrodisiac." As stylish as these two are, they're also deeply relatable!
