Kelly Ripa Once Begged Husband Mark Consuelos to Shave His Mustache: ‘Do We Need to Bring the Porn ‘Stache?’

As an actor, Mark Consuelous has to change up his look every now and then. On a recent episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan, morning host Kelly Ripa recalled the time her husband was preparing for a role almost ten years ago and he had to grow a mustache—and let’s just say, she was not a fan.
During the show, she told her fellow co-host, Ryan Seacrest, about the time her husband started growing his facial hair for a part. “It was also the year we went to things, we went to events,” she said, according to People magazine.
Then, she recounted the time she begged her husband, “‘Do we need to bring the porn ‘stache? The way your hair grows, you can have it grown back by tomorrow!’”
As the publication points out, Ripa shared a throwback photo on her Instagram page back in August 2019, labeling the year 2012 as the “year of the mustache.”
Despite all of her pleas, Consuelous did not shave the mustache. “You know, he didn’t want to do that for continuity,” she told her co-host.
Ripa may not have been a supporter of the “porn ‘stache,” but that doesn’t mean she dislikes facial hair. The All My Children actress simply said, “It depends on the mustache.”
Earlier in the show, Ripa revealed that her husband’s hair changes are usually “role driven.” You may recall that the Riverdale actor debuted a buzzed haircut on Instagram. So now, we can’t help but wonder if he's taking on a new acting role.
