Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are cohosting Live now that Ryan Seacrest has stepped away from the show, and they’ve gotten some backlash from people who simply don’t vibe with their onscreen banter.

The couples’ first show was described as “painful” by some viewers, several of whom dramatically took to twitter to announce that they were “changing the channel” and wouldn’t continue watching.

So how do Kelly and Mark feel about the backlash? They reportedly find trolls coming for their loved-up dynamic “irritating,” but they are ultimately unbothered and have no plans to change anything just because of a few critics.

“Kelly’s been through this before—with every new cohost!” a production source tells Page Six. “If it wasn’t Mark—say it was Andy Cohen—it would be the same exact story. Joel McHale [a fill-in cohost] once had to carry Kelly upside down for an obstacle race and her head was at his rear end and her arms were wrapped around his waist—can you imagine the faux outrage if Mark had to do that?”

The source adds, “Kelly and Mark are certainly not going to change the recipe for success” and said, “Kelly has been discussing her marriage and home life on air for 23 years, and Mark is also fully immersed in this art form—and it is really kind of an art form.”

Here’s a glimpse at their dynamic if you haven’t watched and are suddenly curious!
