Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos couldn't help gushing over their Live guest David Muir.

Consuelos shared a backstage clip of the married couple greeting the ABC World News Tonight anchor, where Ripa gave their guest the nickname "Uncle Daddy." She appeared to be in awe of how great the reporter looked, remarking, "You look rich!" as her husband stroked Muir's biceps.

Muir embraced the compliments, quipping, "This is why I come [on the show]."

The Riverdale alum then turned to the camera, joking that they would be asking Muir some "hard-hitting questions." He added, "Oh, it's going down, Dave."

Consuelos captioned the clip, "Hard hitting questions going down today with @davidmuirabc AKA Captain Handsome."

Fans were very amused by the pair's interaction with their guest.

"Mark petting David’s arm is priceless ❤️," someone commented. Another loved Consuelos' nickname for Muir, writing, "Captain Handsome 😂😂 David Muir, my favorite news to catch up in for the day."

Muir has been close friends with Ripa and Consuelos for years after Ripa decided to cold email him praising his looks—platonically, of course.

"I immediately cracked into the ABC News system email - which you're not supposed to use unless it's for news - and I wrote: 'Dude. You looked amazing tonight. Don't know what was going on. Looked kinda dangerous where you are. But just wanted to let you know that you looked amazing. I had the volume down," she told her former Live co-host Ryan Seacrest.

Ripa and Muir hit it off after the email, turning him into a family friend. He even helped co-host Live in 2017 when Seacrest had scheduling conflicts.
