Mark Consuelos, 52, has proven himself to be quite the worthy co-host ever since he joined Live alongside his wife, Kelly Ripa, 52. Now, the Zaragoza native has proven himself to be quite the graceful Grand Marshal as well.

On Sunday, September 10, Consuelos served as the Grand Marshal for the East L.A. Mexican Independence Day Parade & Festival, an annual celebration of Mexican culture and history that began in 1946.

Ripa, who is always showing her support for her husband (and her family) on social media, celebrated the moment on her Instagram account. Along with a video documenting the day, Ripa wrote: “¡Viva México! [Mexican flag emoji] @Instasuelos was increíble today as the Grand Marshal for the #EastLaParade! Feliz #MexicanIndependenceDay.”

Although Consuelos was born in Spain, his mother, Camilla, is Italian, while his father, Saul, is Mexican.

In the past, the All My Children alum has discussed growing up biracial and how it wasn't always easy. “I'm half Mexican, half Italian. So, I was always in this neverland of... I wasn't really 'Mexican enough' [or] I wasn't really 'Italian enough,’” he told Teen Vogue. “It wasn't till I got a little bit older that it really dug in.”

However, the Riverdale actor looked totally at ease in his Grand Marshal role, and he expressed his gratitude in his own IG post.

“Had a blast celebrating the best of Mexican culture with you all today,” Consuelos wrote. “Thank you for having me East LA!”

Mexican Independence Day takes place on September 16, and this festival acts as a way to kick off the celebrations. According to the official website for the event, the East L.A. Mexican Independence Day Parade is the “oldest and largest Hispanic parade in the United States.”

Well done, Mark.
