Looks like we officially have our first celebrity feud of 2023, because things seem somewhat tense between Andy Cohen and Ryan Seacrest. According to Ryan, who complained about the situation to his Live! With Ryan and Kelly cohost Kelly Ripa, Andy fully ignored him on New Year’s Eve. Just, like, apparently, straight-up wouldn’t say hi.

“It was funny because my big stage was right in front of Anderson and Andy,” Ryan recalled. “And so when I was not working, I was trying to get their attention.”

Apparently Ryan even waved, and said, “I thought maybe I was in the shot. I just wanted to wave and say hi. You know, they have a great show. And you know, Anderson, the best. He turns around and he says, ‘Have a good show.’ Class. Andy did not turn around.”

Sounds tense, buuuuuut Kelly went ahead and shut this narrative down, saying, “That’s not true. He said he was trying to get your attention.”

Welp. This is awkward.

FYI, Andy and Ryan’s pseudo feud kinda goes way back. Last year, Andy said bluntly on NYE, “If you look behind me, you’ll see Ryan Seacrest’s group of losers performing. I’m sorry but if you’re watching ABC, you’re watching nothing.”

He later apologized, saying, “The only thing is that I slammed the ABC broadcast and I really like Ryan Seacrest and he’s a great guy. I really regret saying that, and I was just stupid and drunk and feeling it.”

More recently, Ryan told Entertainment Weekly that he supported CNN’s drinking ban following last year’s drunken antics with Andy and Anderson. “I don’t advocate drinking when one is on the air,” he said. “I don’t know how that started as a tradition, but it’s probably a good idea [to scale back], CNN.”
