  • Kelly Osbourne has always been honest about her life—including her struggles with addiction and body shamers.

  • And in a recent Instagram Story, the 37-year-old former Fashion Police star revealed that she was fat-shamed via an email from the National Enquirer—a UK tabloid.

  • “This is what I have to deal with on a daily basis,” Kelly said, after posting the entirety of the email online.

Kelly Osbourne is getting questions about her weight—and she’s not having any of it.

The former Fashion Police star shared a screenshot on her Instagram Story on Tuesday of what seems to be an email from the National Enquirer. In it, someone asks Kelly to comment on a story they’re planning to publish which says she has “put on a tremendous amount of weight” after “slimming down significantly this year.”

The email goes on to say that a source told the tabloid that Kelly has been “dealing with the stress of her relapse by eating” and that doctors “said the resulting weight gain has left her at high risk of contracting the COVID-19 virus.” It also asked her to reach out to National Enquirer editor in chief Dan Dolan if she wanted to comment.

Over the top of the email, Kelly wrote, “This is what I have to deal with on a daily basis. Feel free to email Dan and tell him what you think about them fat shaming me."

Kelly followed that up with another Instagram Story that said, “This has been the hardest year of my life. I was compliantly and utterly broken. I am still putting myself back together again. I am happy. I am healthy. That's all that should matter."

Kelly, 37, didn’t go into details about why this past year was so hard for her, but she revealed in April that she relapsed after being sober for four years.

“Not proud of it, but I am back on track,” she said on Instagram. "I am sober today and I'm gonna be sober tomorrow, but I've learned it truly is just one day at a time,” she said. "I just wanted to tell you guys the truth 'cause I never, ever want to lie to you.”

Kelly said in an interview with Extra that she had a “nervous breakdown” and thought she could “drink like a normal person” since she had been sober for so long. “It turns out, I cannot, and I will never be normal,” she said. “I don't know why I even tried it."

Kelly admitted that she’s going to struggle with alcohol “for the rest of my life,” adding, “it’s never going to be easy.”

And last month, on her 37th birthday, Kelly shared on Instagram that she’s been sober for five months. “Today marks my 37th birthday and I’m 5 months sober!!! I am filled with so much gratitude it’s almost overwhelming! 💜,” she said.

Kelly also shared on Instagram in August 2020 that she lost 85 pounds. The post was about a Gucci jumpsuit she was wearing, but she talked about her weight loss in the comments. Kelly later shared on the “Hollywood Raw” podcast that she had gastric sleeve surgery but didn’t follow the doctor’s orders.

“I lost, like, I want to say 35 pounds, 40 pounds. And then I stopped losing weight,” she said. “I just stopped because I didn’t listen to what they said. I just thought it was going to be a quick fix. I’d be done. I’d be skinny…I could not have been more wrong. You have to do every single thing that they tell you to do when you do the surgery, or it doesn’t work.”

Kelly previously told Us Weekly that she’s had a lot of experience with being shamed for her weight. “I took more hell for being fat than I did for being an absolute raging drug addict,” she said. “I will never understand that.”
